Can someone tell me the difference between a squid and a cuttlefish?
I know its weird asking this, cos we usually dun bother to differentiate these 2 and we "collectively" call them "sotong", right? but after mummy showed me a chart on Food Cholesterol, it BOTHERS me!! cos I love eating the "white colour sotong" a lot, and I thought that is known as a squid, BUT! I read it from somewhere that that is called a cuttlefish (which i thought was the one that you can get at the yong tau foo stall).. SO WHAT IS IT?!
well, if both squid and cuttlefish gives you the same amount of cholesterol, perhaps that won't bother me so much.. but that chart mentions that 100g of squid has 48mg of cholesterol and the same amount of fresh cuttlefish has 231mg of cholesterol. it's like almost 5 times more for cuttlefish than squid?! holy.
alright, its not like I'm going to give up on eating cuttlefish once I know how to differentiate between the two.. I will just cut down on the intake, ok?
